Karshner Museum Opens New Exhibit Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

Karshner Museum Opens New Exhibit Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

In honor of America’s 250th birthday, the Karshner Museum is proud to present its newest exhibit, The American Experience: Stories of Freedom, Equality, Opportunity, Identity & Voice, opening August 8, 2026, and on display through June 16, 2027.

This engaging exhibit commemorates America’s semiquincentennial by exploring the many stories, cultures, and experiences that have shaped our nation. Through authentic artifacts, music, storytelling, theatre, visual arts, and interactive experiences, visitors will discover how people from diverse communities have contributed to America’s past and continue to influence its future.

The American Experience encourages visitors to reflect on the values, challenges, and achievements that define our shared history while celebrating the voices that have helped build our nation. New experiences and activities will be introduced throughout the year, giving families, students, and community members fresh reasons to return and explore another story.

The exhibit opens on Saturday, August 8, 2026, when the museum will participate in Washington State Museum Day with special hours from 12:00–5:00 p.m. Visitors are invited to stop by, explore the new exhibit, and join the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Admission is free, and all are welcome.
